I’m raising some little kids right now they’re a bit spoiled..then again I’m young too.
Well there’s no real hard and fast rules. I would say the most important thing is to be consistant. If you don’t let them do something one time, don’t let them do it ever! Also, don’t make empty threats. Give them one or two warnings depending on their ages and follow through with a punishment. Be fair, and make sure they know the rules and what’s expected of them. Try to be calm when you deal with wrong behaviour, and always tell them what you do want them to do, not just what you don’t want. Give them lots of praise and encouragement when you see them doing the right thing, and never give in to tears or tantrums! Punishments are really up to you, some people use time-outs, grounding, loss of privelages, etc. Just make sure the punishment fits the crime, and that the kids now what the consequences will be if they misbehave. I won’t advise you for or against spanking, that’s a very personal decision for parents (I’m not sure if they’re your children, or you’re looking after someone else’s?), that is your own judgement call. Good luck, I hope that helps!

Does Martial Arts really teach discipline and a good fighting technique for a 10 and 8 year old?
Oct 31
My 2 boys are getting picked on my 8 year old stands up for his self but my 10 year old wont….My boyfreind told me to put them in Martial Arts but i really dont know if this will be the right way…Any advise….
The right school will definitely teach discipline and help break that ice on being afraid to stand up for them selves.
The RIGHT school though will not make aggressive attackers out of them though. They must know when it is o.k. and not o.k. to defend themselves. A time and place for everything.
So yes Martial arts would highly help them with discipline and the techniques will be useful against others their age but not so well against adults so you know until they are older. MOST have their kids join for discipline.
most schools teach you to fight so you do not have to fight and hopefully that is what you can find, one that gives you the discipline to give them the not only support but the self confidence you say the 10 year old is lacking.
It is the same reason I joined MA when i was almost 6 because of similar problems, now 31 years later i am a teacher and now help other kids as I was once.
Their are also other ways to if you do not like the martial arts schools in your area, their is always boxing, wrestling, the most important thing is make sure you feel safe with your kids there and you can tell by sitting in and watching a class or so and see how the other kids are and the teacher.
good luck
I would really like to know what you think about this topic. In my culture which is Hmong. Its believed that childrens remember and leanr faster by hitting them. Is this true? Because I’m kinda skeptical about this.
huh?
you’re wrong -_-’
I’m hmong and i never heard such thing.
Wella i have, but then…
you word it all wrong
You only get a spanking depending on if your parents are strict or not and if they believe a spanking is bad or good.
It’s not a hmong thing…
every culture does it*
it just depends what the parents chooses to do…
spank them or not*
….I’m only 19, but then…
I should be able to know the reason why parents do what they do
they only do it because they think it’s going to get your attention and make you work harder…
which I found completely stupid because most people these days would just get piss if that happens -_-’
the spanking part is wrong…
my parents don’t do it*
they use to back when i was a kid, but that’s like years ago back when i was 7 or something…
what hmong parents lack in understanding is the fact that people learn better at a very young age so you have to encourage them not spank them or yell at them…
it will just cause them to lose patience, hope and so forth…
most hmong parents usually don’t realize, but then they aren’t giving much hope into what their sons and daughters do however i do understand that they are worried
you should listen to your parents, however at the same time, you should learn to realize yourself what’s really wrong or not and don’t lie to yourself about it either
just remember to ask yourself…………….
If i was a parent, what would i want for you child?
you have to keep in mind that…
Whoever you are…
others are humans too, so what you do would of course conflict with what others do
you just have to know your manners and so forth…
lol, iono about you and most of the hmong guys out there, but then I know my manners and how to speak to an elder
it’s easy*
The most Important Article on Day Trading for Beginners.
Telling it as it is!!!!!
Trading is not for everyone, you can lose lots of money trading and trading can make you lots of money, if you plan, study and work hard.
The appeal of day-trading and its overwhelming popularity of late stems from its easy accessibility, and promises of easy money.
Trading is a game of probabilities and at any given point in time a move may happen out of nowhere that was totally unforeseeable.
There are few jobs at which it is more difficult to make a living than trading!
Estimates are that 80% to 90% of all those who begin trading today will lose their trading capital within the next 12 months.
However, if you study diligently, read the works of “the masters,” plan your work and work your plan, you can make a decent living trading right from your desk at home. With your computer, that is.
Officially, “day-trading” is the act of trading during the daily market hours and closing all of your trades before the market closes each day.
To make a living at day-trading, you need the large daily point moves. This is referred to as volatility. Without volatility, a day-trader cannot make money.
You only need to make $100 per day starting with 1 lot. No need to overtrade or be greedy. As your account increases, add the number of lots.
Predicting where the market is going to go.
Not even the professional trader has an idea what is likely to happen to a particular trade, whether it will go in his favor or not. You will never be able to predict the market. So, your best bet is to follow the market, because you certainly aren’t going to lead it.
It is very risky for inexperienced futures traders who try to predict the market and speculate without having enough resources or experience.
Lack of understanding leads to rumours, false belief and wild stories.
New traders with PhDs and new traders lacking high school diplomas succeed and fail alike trading.
Once you realize that the market is not a thinking entity that has an evil streak that doesn’t want you to succeed, you can learn to trade “in the moment”.
The markets are always producing information. That information is always what “has” happened, not what “will” happen. The trader, on the other hand, will take this information and then arrive at some bias or belief as to what “may” happen, or what “should” happen, or “will” happen. No two traders are likely to come to the same exact conclusion although the market is providing them all the same information.
Over the years, system traders have worked out the most important things that bring trading success – it should not be surprising that they have achieved the success they have because it has taken them a great deal of time to learn how to trade well.
Learning from scratch by personal experience is very expensive in all walks of life and especially so in commodity trading. It is therefore surprising how many new traders choose this perilous alternative.
Your trump card in day-trading consists of two components: discipline and method. The most difficult practice for every trader is discipline.
Having “No Fear” to take the next and the next and the next trade no matter what. If you can master this single element, you will be ahead of 99% of all traders. Having the discipline to repeat your proven strategy, day after day, is the single most important facet of successful trading.
Above all, you need to be able to trust your system not to make a hash of things. You have to feel completely comfortable that your system will not make a hash of things.
If you have a simple method that will produce a steady, though small, profit regularly – and follow it religiously – you will be the trader who walks away consistently winning.

Gone are the days of not so long ago…when a family could live okay on single income, working for someone else, that is. With ever-increasing inflation, taxes and nearly everything else, at least two incomes are most often needed – and just to cover the basics for a family. Often at least one of the family members also needs to moonlight or somehow bring in extra income to help cover bills and debts, often accumulated to cover more bare necessities with maybe an extra added in here and there like a nice new suit or mini-vacation that was once included in the one-income family of the old days.
Well now, with good self discipline and a few other factors added in, you can work from home to make money to help support your family. And one main industry that offers a wealth of opportunity is the travel industry, where people are earning not only billions of dollars, but also are also enjoying benefits of travel packages round the world.
To see if you believe you may qualify to work from home with good self discipline and other hard working attributes needed to make your own business a success, see what replies you would give to the following questions. And be honest with yourself. Because you’d be cheating yourself and your family in the long wrong, if you don’t reply truthfully.
1. Do you normally set goals and complete them? To be a success, in any field, you will need to have goals, as these will determine the ways and means of accomplishing your success. Your goals will most often be established in one of two ways:
a. Based upon the amount of extra income you want to make.
b. Based upon the amount of time you desire to spend certain tasks in order to make the income.
In short, your goals will need to be specific and feature answers to: what, when, where or how, three important points you will need to define each step of the way.
2. Is the program you’re thinking of getting in to a good investment? Check these points:
a. Can you afford initial start up costs?
b. Are you passion it about it to see it through long term?
c. Is it marketable?
d. Are the goals you can set with the program desirable and achievable?
3. Do you have enough courage to give it a go?
4. Are you self motivated? Do you have perseverance? Will you keep educating yourself – even with at work-at-home issues?
After you have answered the above questions, look back over your replies. If they were mostly all positive, you’re on your way to success already and have an excellent foundation for growing your business. Negatives mean you may need more elbow grease like via the help of workshops, books and a mentor or coaching program.

If you are new to bodybuilding, everything can be very overwhelming. The problem is if you ask a 100 people how to get started, you will get 100 different answers. I will try to answer some of the basic questions everyone asks:
Should I Join A Gym Or Workout At Home?
If you have access to a gym, this is definitely the best choice. There are too many distractions in a home. If you are a very discipline person, then working out at home may be an option. For the average person, home workouts do not last.
Once you decide where you are going to workout, you have to decide on a time of day that works best for your schedule. Try to pick a time that you know will have the least distractions. If you have a family and kids, try to get to the gym before work. Or see if you can get in a workout at lunch. Whatever you chose, just be consistent with your workouts.
An added benefit to joining a gym is you can work with a personal trainer and have a personalize workout routine setup for your body type. If you decide to workout at home, there are plenty of books and magazines that can help you setup a workout routine.
What kind of workout routine should I follow?
If you are just starting out, I would start out with a routine that hits each body part once a week:
Day 1: Chest/Back/Biceps
Chest:
Dumbbell Bench Press – One warm-up set of 15 reps followed by 3 sets of 12 reps.
Incline Bench Press – Three sets of 12 reps.
Dumbell Flyes – Three sets of 15 reps.
Back:
Lat Pulldowns To The Front – One warm-up set of 15 reps followed by 3 sets of 12 reps.
One Arm Dumbell Row – Three sets of 12 reps.
Low Cable row – Three sets of 12 to 15 reps.
Biceps:
Straight Bar or EZ Bar Curls – Three sets of 12 to 15 reps.
Alternating Seated Dumbbell Curls – Three sets of 12 to 15 reps.
Day 2: Cardio
Half hour on the treadmill or elliptical trainer.
Day 3: Shoulders/Triceps/Abs:
Shoulders:
DB Should Press – One warm-up set of 15 reps followed by 3 sets of 12 reps.
Lateral Raises – Three sets of 12 to 15 reps.
Triceps:
Cable Pushdowns – Three sets of 12 to 15 reps.
EZ Bar Skull Crushers – Three sets of 12 reps.
Abs:
Crunches – Three sets of 20 to 30 reps.
Day 4: Cardio
Half hour on the treadmill or elliptical trainer.
Day 5: Quadriceps/ Hamstrings/Calves
Quads:
Leg Press – One warm-up set of 15 reps followed by 3 sets of 12 reps.
Squats – One warm-up set of 12-15 reps followed by 3 sets of 12 reps.
Alternating DB Lunge – Three sets of 12 to 15 reps.
Hamstrings:
DB Stiff Leg Deadlift – One warm-up set of 15 reps followed by 3 sets of 12 reps.
Calves:
Standing or seated Calf Raises – One warm-up set of 15 reps followed by 4 sets of 15-20 reps.
Day 6: Optional Cardio
Half hour on the treadmill, elliptical trainer or fast walk.
Try to keep a journal of your workouts (including weights and times). This will help you keep track of your progress. Following the workout for a few months increasing the weights whenever you can. Try to keep strict form to avoid injury.
Should I use nutritional supplements?
Definitely! When you workout, you are breaking your muscle down. Your body requires nutrients to build the muscle back up. Building muscle is 10% working out and 90% nutrients/rest. You build your muscle when you are resting.
If I have to pick the top bodybuilding supplements, it would be in this order:
a)Multi Vitamin – Make sure your body has all the necessary nutrients, antioxidants and minerals to build muscle.
b)Whey Protein – Try to make sure you eat at least 1 to 1.5 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight if you are following a workout routine.
c)Creatine – Try for 5 grams of creatine a day. If you have a sensitive stomach, try Kre-Alkalyn.
d)Water – Water is not a supplement…but it is very important. Drinking lots of water keeps the muscles full and helps flush your body of toxins.
With the supplements listed above, also make sure you stick to healthy foods like oatmeal, egg whites, tuna, chicken, brown rice, vegetables, etc. If you need to cheat, do so in moderation. Try to stay away from processed foods, sugar and alcohol.
Eating small meals 5-6 times a day is more beneficial then 3 meals a day. It keeps your muscles fueled throughout the day.
By following the advice above, you will be well on your way to develop the body you dreamed about. The key to bodybuilding is consistency. If you stay consistent, you will succeed!

Ironically, in a world filled with terrorism, assault, rape, and murder, I have to write an article giving people reasons why they should be learning self-defense or the Kubotan personal-protection weapon. But then, if I didn’t, who would?
I hear questions concerning which techniques are best and what weapon should I be training with if I’m concerned about XYZ? If you have questions like these, perhaps this article can help.
Since this article focuses on the self-defense weapon most commonly known as the Kubotan, my answers will be along those line. So, just in case you’ve ever asked questions like…
“Which self-defense weapon is best for the beginner or untrained person?”
“Why should I learn to use the Kubotan self-defense keychain?” Or…
“What’s so special about the Kubotan?”
Here are some of the answers I came up with off the top of my head:
1. It’s one of the easiest weapons to learn and use.
If you’re concerned about self-protection, you don’t have the luxery of time on your side. Where a student seeking to learn a martial art for confidence-building, discipline, or for purely asthetic reasons can take all the time he or she needs, you need to find techniques and, in this case, weapons that can be picked up and mastered in the quickest time possible.
2. Short of picking up a rock or a stick, it’s one of the cheapest weapons to buy or make.
Cost is another factor for many people. Of course, if you can afford it and they’re legal where you live, nothing beats a handgun for making sure you have the advantage in a self-defense situation, regardless of what anybody says. But, for many, expense, age, and restrictive laws make this a problem. So, the easiest thing to do is find something that will work for you without a lot of expense in time, money, or effort.
3. It instantly gives a smaller defender a serious advantage over a larger, stronger assailant.
Nothing brings a larger assailant to his knees (not to mention tears) like a well-placed piece of metal. When used properly agains the many weak points and sensitive areas of the human body, the Kubotan is right up there as a formidable weapon, especially for the smaller defender.
4. It’s easily concealable, allowing it seemingly come out of “nowhere” to surprise and confuse the attacker.
You don’t always want to be obvious in a self-defense situation. It makes it too easy for the attacker to prevent you from carrying out your way-cool move. The small, easily-concealable Kubotan can slip into spaces and damage areas of the assailant’s body that he can’t see or protect until it’s too late.
5. It’s legal to carry in most areas.
From a purely practical standpoint, legality should be the last thing you’re worried about when it comes to defending yourself. After all, is the criminal acting in a legal and responsible way when he or she attacks you? But… If this is a concern, the generally acceptable nature of the Kubotan makes it a great choice as a personal protection weapon.
6. If it’s not legal where you live, it’s easily substituted by a wide array of every day items that are the same shape and/or size.
Just because the law says that you can own, carry, or use a certain type of weapon, doesn’t mean that you can find plenty of legal items in everyday use that make perfect substitutes. Learn to think outside the box and don’t let something as simple as a “prohibited weapon list” prevent you from learning a valuable skill.
7. It would be stupid not to.
Of course, this also means that not learning to defend yourself in general is, not only stupid, also not very responsible as an adult who should be able to handle their own problems and take care of themselves in this big, bad world.
In a self-defense situation, assailants typically brandish a weapon, not to use it, but to gain an advantage by merely showing it. Having even a simple weapon, like the Kubotan, evens the odds and can even tip them in your favor.
So, the next time you’re wondering whether or not you should consider adding the simple-looking, yet amazingly powerful Kubotan self-defense keychain to your self-defense arsenal…
…the answer is a resounding, “Yes!”
