My son is 18 months old. He is throwing fits really bad and starting to scream and hit inanimate objects when he is told no. I would like to start learning some discipline techniques to curve this behavior. Is there any books that could help. I’m a Christian as well so ones that are Christian based would be very good.

Don’t know that the book is Christian but I have Dr. Harvey Karp, The Happiest Toddler on the Block. I have only heard good things about him and I used his techniques when my son was a newborn-the 5 S’s.

“Toddler Taming” by Christopher Green is a good one. Basic Behavioural techniques and easy to read for managing those Terrible 2′s.

Parenting With Love and Logic
The Five Love Languages for Kids
These books don’t necessarily focus on discipline techniques but how to approach and address a situation.

I loved “Making the terrible twos terrific” by Dr. Rosemond. Your son is a perfect age to start working on the ideas from the book too.

The book called “Don’t make me count to 3″ is a Christian book about training and disciplining young children. You can get it on Amazon. It comes highly recommended by my pastor.
