Spanking is not common in my area, we have horrible children because of it.
Spanking bare bottomed is rediculous. You’re effecting a consequence, not humiliating their pride and breaking their will.

I’m 15 and my parents have never spanked me. Ever. If I do something wrong (which to be honest isn’t very often) they discipline me by not allowin me to use they computer,or by grounding me. It’s been like this since I was much younger and it’s very rare that I actually do anything I need to be punished for. They have never hit my younger brothers either.
I don’t completely disagree with spanking, but I think that if parents establish a good form of discipline early on then they probably won’t have any need to spank their children.
I think that at 12 years old you daughter is to old to be spanked, i’m sure you could find a different form of punishment that works better, she will just end up resenting you. NEVER spank your children on their bare bottom. That is just a form of humiliation and is just unwarranted.

that is jsut sick! that would just be sexually abusing her by then is its on her bare butt and she is 12! she needs more privacy then that! and spanking is not as affective as grounding them. my parents stopped spanking me at age 9, and they were never so sick to do it to my bare butt!
First of all, spanking is absolutly not abuse if it is strictly used as a punishment and go’s no further and does not injure the child. Second, I think at 12 years old she is becoming a young lady who might be starting to have body issues and not feel comfortable being spanked anymore, especially bare bottomed. I think it is time for you to upgrade to grounding.

On HER bare bottom? Perhaps, up to about 5 or 6 years of age. On the clothed bottom, probably, for a few more years. IF she seems to “need” her bare bottom spanked into the double-digit years, her mom should be the one doing it and as dad I should not even be in the room!

No, You should not be spaking a 12 year old as it is, you should start grounding now. She is becoming a woman. how would you feel if you were spanking her and you look at your hand or whatever you were spanking her with and there was blood on it not from you, but from her period? That makes her a “woman”. Grounding is the way to go.

I have not yet spanked any of my kids. But I have done a lot of research to learn how to spank adult women bottoms and I have read a lot about how parents should spank their children.
The first thing to do is have a conversation with the child discuss the action or problems your going to correct and ask the child how many strikes they need. Adding more strikes to the child’s idea is good.
At 12 years old bare bottom is necessary the embarrassment factor is key. With the embarrassment factor the need for very hard strikes is not usually needed for the average girl in your daughters age group. The physiological key in spanking a very young woman is to restrain and to embarrass. The parent much hike her bottom up to the center of the lap with the body straight in the midsection this is to get the bottom to be very fleshy so not to cause any bone injury, even with light spanking bone injuries can occur. The kids outside arm must be taken by the wrist and pulled over the back and between the spanker and the spankie this will greatly restrict the child from being able basically escape. I should tell you some children who have begun puberty like to be spanked so sometimes spanking will not help.
I will spank my daughters 10 and 13 if need be. If bare bottom hand spanking does not correct I will step up the punishment all the way up to using my recreational sexual activity spanking horse and the instruments I have all the way to the canes if need be with full nudity.. I am for spanking only if the child is way out of line like drinking and wild partying. My boys I will do just the same if need be.
sounds like paedophile behaviour from our last answer there i dont think its appropriate behaviour for father to inerfere with twelve year old girls, i was never hit or spanked by my father and i turned out well became a nurse and married a doctor, dont think violence would have allowed me to be as close to my parents as i am today!
I am 13 year old girl, and I have been spanked, or in fact, caned, very often. I’m not sure if it is effective but it hurts a lot. My parents are very strict and they want me to have good behavior at all times, which means no raising of voices, no running, always addressing who you’re speaking to, no slang etc. It is very harsh especially because all my friends are doing it and I have to try very hard not to say stuff like ‘yeah’ or ‘nope’ because they think it’s very rude.
I am not really against spanking, but I don’t think that children should be spanked so frequently for every little mistake they make. For example, if I accidentally speak slang or run about at home or in the mall, it would be immediately 5-10 strokes of the cane with no negotiation at all. And also, the caning is done bare bottom and me bent down touching my toes. I don’t know if it’s normal, but I have to thank them for caning me after each ‘session’.
They also cane me if I don’t score good grades, and that means I don’t get above 85. So for example if I get 75, which is 10 marks below the expected mark, I would get 10 strokes of the cane.
They say that it is for my own good and they don’t want me to run wild but I don’t think it’s right for the canings to be so frequent. It does seem harsh, but I guess I’m quite used to it now.
Actually I find that caning is rather effective as a punishment and it serves as a very strong deterrence for the child, but if used in excess then it wouldn’t be very effective because the child would feel that it is ‘normal’ and part and parcel of life.

First off I am primarily anti spanker. On small children perhaps slaps with the hand to correct actions is warranted. I realize if a small child touches an electrical socket they are too young for a lecture on electricity.
Really at age 12, by now there should be no more spankings. If you are spanking then you the parent need to look youurself in the mirror and ask what do I need to do to improve my parenting skills.
Finally no to bare bottom of a twelve year old. As they say on ESPN C’mon man!!!!!!!
