Good video. Moving child back by 2 desks does nothing other than offer an aversive & making an example (attention) & does not help the classroom or Shane.
Concern for performance needs to be at a different level than upon 1 out of group. In private, for instance, is a time you can ask Shane if he has trouble seeing the board or if he wants to tell you what is bothering him (though it might be good to have a 2nd teacher for a meeting with Shane outside the class).
What should be done is the ?

What mistakes did the teacher make in handling this situation? I might have the teachers in my class on dealing with disruptive students view this video and critique the teacher’s intervention. Thanks for posting it.
