The national Getting it right for every child approach asserts that parents are (or can become) the most significant contributors to meeting a child&#8217;s needs. This is the same for parents of children who are looked after away from home. However, those regularly working with such children and their families accept that these parents need additional support, both to allow them to effectively contribute to the care planning process, and to acquire or develop essential parenting skills.</p>

<p>I&#8217;m a college student, constantly drifting away from my responsibilities. I know why I need to exercise self-discipline. I know exactly what&#8217;s at stake, and I&#8217;ve been burned more than once by my lack of it. So how do I make the jump between that knowledge and knowing HOW to discipline myself?</p>
<p>In summary:<br />
WHO: Me.<br />
WHAT: Self-discipline.<br />
WHEN: Now.<br />
WHERE: University of Houston.<br />
WHY: So I won&#8217;t fail, drop out, lose whatever pride I have left. If possible, keep my scholarship and stay in the Honors College.<br />
HOW: ???<br />
I&#8217;ve been told &#8220;just DO it&#8221; before. The problem is, I don&#8217;t know how (if I did, I wouldn&#8217;t be asking). It&#8217;s like asking a flying person how to fly and getting the answer &#8220;by flying.&#8221; Is there a way to get there without having to already BE there? (This problem comes up with habit-forming as well &#8211; needing to be in the habit to make sure I do it regularly enough to form the habit.) Is the leap something intuitive that isn&#8217;t really understood at all? Why doesn&#8217;t it work for me?</p>

Upon inspection of the pigeon&#8217;s partly charred message, however, it turns out that shooting carrier pigeons has become an offense punishable by court-martial, and Blackadder simply decides to eat the evidence for lunch. When General Melchett arrives at the trenches, demanding an explanation as to why the group hasn&#8217;t advanced, Blackadder nearly gets away with it by blaming the communication breakdown. Unfortunately Private Baldrick and Lieutenant George unintentionally reveal what Blackadder has done (as having been told not to answer any questions on the incident, when asked unrelated questions, they reply, &#8220;We didn&#8217;t receive any messages, and Captain Blackadder definitely did not shoot this delicious plump-breasted pigeon!&#8221;). Finally, there are pigeon feathers on the floor, to which Captain Darling and Melchett believe them to be white. But after Baldrick points out that the feathers are &#8220;speckly,&#8221; Melchett is enraged, as it was his beloved pet pigeon Speckled Jim, and tries to kill Blackadder himself, forcing Darling to restrain him. Smugly, Darling then informs Blackadder that he&#8217;s under arrest <b>&#8230;</b></p>
