I will be starting my student teaching starting in August. I will be teaching High School English. Normal class size at the school where I teach is 11 students. This semester I will have more than 25 students.

I am rather short, and I have a naturally soft voice, which are challenges I must overcome as a future teacher. I am excited about the experience, but I thought I would ask for tips anyway.

Does anyone have any suggestions for classroom management/lesson planning?

Most of my clincal experience has been with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers but I have to student teach in a 3rd grade this coming fall. My concern is how to keep them focused and not get out of control. The management and transition methods (singing songs, using chants, hand claps, etc.) that I use with younger kids probably won’t work with 3rd graders. How do you connect with them? How do you get them to be quiet and focus?

Please help, I’m really concerned lol

How can I spank my child in public without someone calling the police?

My 3 and 1 year old always get out of hand when we go out. Is there a less obvious way to spank them while in public. I’ve tried pinching their hands but they yell really loud and it draws attention. They don’t listen to words so physical punishment is a MUST.
The cops have never been called I just worry about that happening.
