What people do is there thing sometimes kids out fine sometimes kids don’t but using hangers and other stuff thats 2 much and uncessary. they’re goin’ 2 grow up and resent. And also, people who say that we have school shootings or that kids are brats today because they aren’t being spanked anymore- do some RESEARCH! If you ever even bothered to look it up to before you made such statements, you would know that 90% of parents today admit to having spanked their children before, and that 70% of parents approve of it and do it regularly. MOST kids are still spanked today, so if kids are really so horrible, it obviously isn’t working so well.

You know what I find funny? That half the spankers on here say how well it works and how great they turned out because of it, yet they are so rude and they judge people who have different views than them. Stop saying things like kids who don’t get spanked are spoiled brats, and telling people who don’t agree with spanking that they don’t discipline their kids or have brats. nobel “peace” prize. There are ways to bring up goodhearted children that don’t involve hitting them. Now I have my own child and by being involved early I am seeing these same traits in my son without any sort of spanking.

While the whole problem of spanking, the “abuse”, is often exaggerated, it is nevertheless the lazy mans way of being a parent.

People say kids won’t listen or can’t be talked to, but that’s only if you don’t parent them correctly in the first place. Personally I had parents that never spanked me, but raised me to learn discipline but at the same time value free thinking, allowing me to become my own person and understanding things for myself.

Its sad to see that parents now a days are absolute wusses. I don’t know if anyone has realized, but most of the people that argue for spankings are the ones that have been SPANKED THEMSELVES. Pretty interesting considering its such a vicious punishment, right? Oh and guess what, Back in 1964 when spanking was in full swing, there were no school shootings. Haha, way to ignore my argument. Here let me state it again:

You’re arguing that your evidence is valid (the small portion of people who commit suicide due to being abused), but the vast majority of people who DIDN’T commit suicide should be ignored and not considered valid evidence.

All this aside, spanking a child is not the same abusing them.

Breaking a bat over a kid’s head when you’re drunk = abuse.

Spanking a child on the butt for acting up is not the same thing.
