You know, that’s actually the first ignorant statement I ever heard that makes perfect sense. My daddy wanted me to grow up better than him…then I grew up, and here I am, still a hick
@IwontConform Very true, there were people from all walks of life helping write the show. True, the show started out pushing the liberal agenda but Norm Lear, himself, said the mail they received supporting Archie far exceeded the other responses – lots of Americans identify with a common, hard-working white male being left behind because of all the Liberal agendas.
@MissouriCSA Why? Because the jokes were an afterthought. It was written with characters and plot in mind first. That’s what makes Judd Apatow’s movies work. They never seem forced or scripted.
@crancrab1 Thats a common liberal analysis of the show,seen tiresomely often on you tube,but not necessarily accurate.There were actually several people involved in the production of the series who`s views mirrored archies too some extent.The liberal way is not the only way,and frankly,if we didnt have the conservatives to counter the liberals naivety,we would be in a worse not better state.

Yep! Basically what Archie is doing is making fun of them all though. LoL! Everyone on the show was very much against what Archie stood for and deliberately made him an exaggeration. It’ more of him making fun of the Rush Limbaugh type of person
Archie would speak truths but to “nullify” the truths , Lear would have Bunker make some racial slur and in the simple minds that are the general public, that would make the truths non-truths
Its like the OJ trial.
The “logic” used was OJ cant be guilty because someone else did something wrong.
