What is your discipline style and do you think it has helped or hurt you in parenting your toddler?

For instance, do you spank, slap hands, yell…
Do you do “time-outs” or have another version of that (like quiet time or simply removing them from the situation?)
Are you against spanking and what do you do instead?
About how many times a day do you have to discipline?

And does your style of discipline work and are you happy with how things are going or do you wish you could learn a way to discipline differently?

How old is your child/children?

Thank you!

Toddler discipline.. Can someone give me a real mom answer? Sick of textbook on how to teach and discipline.?

I have a wonderfull baby girl. She is amazingly sweet and thoughtfull even at 16 months she knows to share and will come across the room to hug someone. Its so cute. However, I am coming to a point where I am not sure how to discipline. I feel like I am saying no so much. I feel bad too. I take care of her pretty much all alone and with no breaks ever it can be very hard at times. So my question is this.. What is the best way to get my baby to listen to me without spanking or yelling no all the time. I only get one shot to get this right and believe it takes a village to raise a child so this is my village ;) help me out mama’s

When do you punish/discipline your toddler?

Whether you use spanking or timeouts, when do you punish? I mean how do you determine “naughty” behavior as opposed to normal “toddler” behavior? My daughter is one and she doesn’t listen. She fights to change her diaper. Isn’t this normal behavior for her age? Do I put her on timeout for fighting and running away when she needs a diaper change? GHow do you know when to punish and when not to?

What form of Discipline do you use on your toddler?

I have a 3 year old son, and I am having problems with discipline. I was wondering what form of discipline that everyone uses and how effective it is. I also am curious as to what ways to discipline him while we are at the grocery store or any other store for that matter. Leaving the store isn’t an option, as that is what he would prefer.

Thank you in advance

How can you discipline, redirect a toddler without constantly using the word “no”?

Baby is nearly walking at 10 mos. and is literally into everything. Despite making our home as babysafe as possible, she can still get into trouble, attempts to access things that are taboo, etc. I find myself constantly saying “no” and redirecting her back to her toys (which she finds much less interesting than just about everything else.) She gets pretty mad, and it seems like most everything that interests her right now is off limits (usually because of a danger to her.) Anyone have a better way to dicipline that you’ve tested with children?

How early could parents start using the “time-out” discipline method on a toddler?

At what age should I start?

Some call it the “Naughty chair” method

Are there any other methods that I should know?
