MARKET RESEARCH

Obviously some time and research will be required to determine what market is of the most interest to you. Further market research will be required to see if your market selection is a profitable one. Of course there is much detail that could be discussed however that is not the intent of this article. Suffice is to say that your market selection is VERY important and should be based upon current and accurate research.

Choosing a non-profitable market or one of little interest to you will lead to a lack of success and the need to start over again.

MARKETING STRATEGY

Upon choosing the market you’ll need to decide upon what business model will best enable you to maximize your success. Other criteria you’ll want to consider here would be your current skill set, available resources, and other assets needed to implement the marketing strategy you’ve selected.

Now you’ll need to plan out in advance what those tasks are that will get you the successful results you want in your new business.

How will you advertise your business or deliver the product or service to your customers? Will you be producing your own product or perhaps selling other peoples products? No doubt there will be a certain amount of repetition and you’ll want to schedule out what will need to be done on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Here is where you ‘plan your work then work your plan’ never deviating from it unless results show the need for adjustments. Establish a schedule and stick to it!

Identifying the most important areas and needs of your business is important so that the necessary time and attention is focused here.
