I am not into spanking as a disciplining technique, I just can’t bring myself to spank nor do I want to. Any other disciplining suggestions for a 2 year old boy? Thanks
time outs and confiscations work great but you have to be consistent I went to the website supernanny.com and got some great advice. Spanking is never good for the parent or child.

naughty step
time outs
confiscation of toys/belongings
You could do a progress chart, this is for encouragement not actually a punishment, so if the child is good, he/she gets a sticker, if he/she is bad then it gets something took away for a day

positive re enforcement.
" if you do "this" – you will get "this’…
if you dont do "this" – "this" will get taken away…
punishment is great – take away something he loves to play with – (with my 2 yr old son, its his choo choo train – so when he is "naughty" i take it away, and he listens…

time outs
take toys away
reward him for doing good things and show him if he does good things he will get rewarded but if he does bad things he will get things taken away.

Time Outs! But, when you put him in time out, you have to stick with it. If you say that he’s in time out for 10 minutes, make him stay there for 10 minutes, or start the time over. In the beginning he probably won’t get it and wind up there for a while, but he’ll definitely catch on and it will be an effective form of punishment.

Its 1 minute for every year. So it’s 2 minutes for your kid.

Why dont white people like to hit their kids ???? Well in my country it is actually illigal! Besides, spanking your kids will teach them that violent behaviour is a normal way to settle troble with another individual -such as school or kindergarden. I agree with especially the time outs. 2 minutes on a chair bfor a two year old, it doesn’t even have to take place in a different room, just place him with a little distance to your self and keep putting him back on the chair if he hops down in protest, untill the two minutes are up. then talk with him about why you gave him a time out afterward.

Spanking is for the misinformed and under-educated. Discipline = education. Are you setting a good example? Teaching good behavior? Rewarding him when he does well? These are the tools of the best parents.
