1) What discipline techniques are in place at your school? After school detention (1/2-1 hour), saturday detention (1-2 hours)

2) Do you have to write lines at your school? Sometimes.Depends on the offence

3) What happens in detention at your school? We sit there in silence. teacher reads out our name, asks us our offence. At the end of the detention they read our punishment work and write us in the detention book

4) Guess it gets escalated one level up

We are threatened with detention, but I never had detention. We get these white pieces of paper that says what we did wrong and we have to get them signed, pointless.

Do you have to write lines at your school? If yes how many?
Nope.

What happens in detention at your school?
From 3 pm- 4:15 pm you have to sit in a room and do schoolwork.

What are the steps of discipline at your school?
First it’s a white slip, then two white slips are detention, then three is a suspension.

Is your school strict?
Not at all, there are people with 10 white slips, who never even served a detention. They don’t follow through.

3. You sit in a classroom for thirty minutes after school and do your homework.
4. Detention, ISS if the offence is severe, and OSS if the offense is illegal.
You have until the end of semester to serve your detentions. If you don’t they lower your grade for the class it was for. If you skip ISS, then you get a truancy notice, and the school district can take you to court.
5. No, no one really gives a damn, so long as test scores are up.

Detention, Pick up trash, Expulsion, Suspension, In School Suspension…

Nope.

You have to sit there quietly for 30 minuttes. But mostly it’s this really stupid teacher [he's like 20] and all he does it put in his iPod and rock out. So you could really do anything and he wouldn’t care..

We get like 1 warning, then you get a detention. If you don’t show up, you get in school suspension for like 2 days I think.. and If you do something REALLY bad, you get expelled.

Yes. Very. Especially about our uniforms.

nothing, it’s a half hour where you just have to do school work, it;s not that bad actually. it’s like a mini study hall.
teacher warning>phone call home>detention(sometimes they skip right to detention)>in school suspension> disciplinary hearing>expulsion
yes very, you can’t get into a fist fight or else they will expel you, most schools just suspend.

If you get a referral you have to go to ISS for the rest of that period. Or if you did something really bad you go to ISS the rest of the period and then go talk to the principle and you might get all day ISS or multiple days of ISS. (In School Suspension)

If you’re late to class you get a referral and have to go to after school detention. (Meaning no ISS)

If you get in a fight you’re immediately suspended. Depending on the circumstances you might be suspended for 2 or 5 days. In those cases you can return to school. But if you’re suspended for 10 days, you will have an ALC hearing. (where your teachers and principle decide if you should go to Alternative school). Sometimes they can go to ALC for 12 weeks and then return to school or other times they will have to transfer to a different school.

What happens in detention at your school? You just sit there, you can do your homework, but that’s it…though we tend to sneak iPods and magazines there

Is your school strict? About some things. They are very strict about harassment, and some certain aspects of the dress code.

Well, I’m not totally sure about the disciplinary technics except that they give lunch detention. At my middle school we had a demerit system, like points against you when you did something wrong. If you got so many you got sent to alternative school, basically isolation. Then if you got more you got your eighth grade trip taken away and suspended.

you just sit there looking at the wall or you could do your hw
A lot of people talkk though cause the Detention teacher is the art teacher to lol so she has to go back and forth
its kinda strict
you get 3 Detention than you can to go to school for 3 weeks but i don’t know anyone who has gone that far

ABOVE ARE ALL THE DETENTIONS YOU GET AT BREAK AND LUNCH. BELOW ARE OTHER THINGS.
1. We dont write lines.
2. Some teachers make us do push ups or silly dances to other classes/teachers to make us embarressed.
3. We normally finish school at 3:00pm but they can keep us at school untill 3:10 pm WITHOUT ringing home.
4. After school DT WITH ringing home first.
5.Isolation
6.Senior Staff DT- Held by the Senior Staff.
7. Saturday DT for 2 hours
8. Exclusion for getting in fight etc.
BTW- i dont experience many DT, mainly just the first few I mentioned….
FYI- DT = Dentention.

break detention, lunch detention, after-school detention, in-school suspension, out-of-school suspension, expulsion, reflection room, demerits (they take it off your form total and the form at the end of the year with the most merits goes to disneyland), red card (they send it to your form teacher who tells you off), sent out the classroom

no, but we have to spend all lesson copying out pages out of a textbook sometimes

yes but they make a lot of empty threats as well
oh, and i forget they do litter-picking as well but thats if your bad outside of lessons

Urm we have:
Detentions, Isolation, Time-out, forced pe, urm, next year we are going to have like litter picking.. o_0

Urm, some teachers make you write lines sometimes, urm, i got made to write like 100 lines?:L it doesn’t happen very much…

Urm, Detentions would be everyone sitting around in "silence" … but it depends who your detention is with as to if that happens, half the time we al just talk and complain till the teacher lets us go?

Urm, in class you get three warnings, each warning is a 5 min detention, 3 warnings and you get sent to time-out, you get an hour after school detention for getting sent to time out. If you refuse to go to time out you get put in isolation for a week. If you refuse isolation you get immediately permanently excluded…

Urm, our school has a good amount of "discipline?"

Detention, demerits, AD (Academic Deficiency, which is where you go if you do not complete your homework after school), Green Slips, Gray Slips, Suspension, Expulsion

I’m not sure because I have never had to go to detention. However I had to go to AD once. You go to a room directly after school and sign in. Then you must complete the homework you didn’t complete. You can stay until 5:00PM. If you have not completed your homework by then, you must come in the next day. It sucks because then you have to miss sports.

You get demerits. Demerits lead to detention. If you fail to go to detention you have to go to Saturday detention in full uniform. Which means you have to go to school on Saturday for an hour.

YES. My school is very strict. They can basically do whatever they want because it’s a private catholic school.

I hate my school.

1. there is In-school, out-of-school, after-school, and Saturday school depending on what you have done.
2. idk what this means so I don’t think we have to do it.
3. you just do all your work for the day
4. you skip after-school you get in-school you skip that you get Saturday school.
5. Some what, depends on who writes you up, some teachers don’t care and never give you anything, but my one teacher wanted me to have after-school the principal said i didn’t need it, but then she talked to him again and made him give me after-school.
